Sacred Tombs of Konya

Konya is a city of saints —
each resting place a doorway to silence,
each tomb a candle of remembrance.
During the retreat, we visit several of these luminous sites,
to sit, reflect, and let the heart be washed in presence.

Hz. Şems Tabrizi Tomb

Hidden within the quiet streets of Konya lies the Tomb of Shams Tabrizi
the sun who awakened Rumi’s heart.
Here, love burns without flame,
and silence speaks louder than any word.
To sit near his resting place is to feel the fire of divine friendship —
the meeting point of lover and beloved

Hz. Mevlana Rumi Tomb

At the heart of Konya stands the Tomb of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi,
where the air itself turns in remembrance.
This sacred mausoleum, adorned with turquoise calligraphy,
is not merely a resting place — it is a living presence.
Pilgrims come from every corner of the world,
not to mourn, but to listen to the silence that sings,
“Come, come, whoever you are.”

Sadreddin Konevi Tomb

A close companion of Ibn Arabi and a master of divine knowledge,
Sadreddin Konevi rests in peaceful simplicity.
His tomb emanates an atmosphere of deep contemplation —
the stillness of one who knew the unseen.
To visit him is to sit in the company of the intellect illumined by love.

Ateşbaz Veli Tomb

Ateşbaz Veli, Rumi’s devoted companion and cook,
was known for turning the simplest act — preparing food —
into a form of worship.
His tomb, humble and full of warmth,
reminds us that service done with love
is also a path to the Beloved.

Tavus Baba Tomb

On a quiet hill outside the city rests Tavus Baba,
a saint of humility and hidden devotion.
The path to his tomb winds gently upward,
inviting reflection and surrender.
Here, one feels the sweetness of solitude —
a reminder that even in silence, love is near.
